60 Before 60 Project: #21 - Watch a Parade

Who doesn't love a parade? Having not been to one in many, many years I thought this would be a great experience to add to my 60 Before 60 Project.

There’s an old saying, “Everyone loves a parade”.

And what’s not to love? Parades are usually help to celebrate some type of major event. Christmas, Thanksgiving, St. Patrick’s Day or Pride Day – it's a time for the community to come together and share something special.

The last parade I went to was for a Santa Clause Parade when my kids were young. So it’s been well over 15 years since I attended a parade.

Where we live, the St. Patrick’s Day parade was just starting up again in full force this year after the pandemic. So I thought this would be a great addition to my 60 Before 60 Project experiences.

Unfortunately, we weren’t blessed with warm weather for this year’s parade but that didn't seem to matter much. It was still great to see so many adults and kids lining the parade route to watch the people, floats and bands walk past. You couldn’t help but feel the energy as everyone celebrated together.

Here’s a few pictures from the parade. I hope you had a wonderful St Patrick’s Day and will be able to enjoy a parade soon as well!
