Musing for the Day: Confusion

After experiencing a major flood in our basement, we lost the majority of our personal items. But what did survive was a journal I wrote back in 2009. It contained random musings on trying to live a happier and healthier life. I figured if this one book made it to the surface of my despair maybe it was now my obligation to breathe some life into it and share. Here is one of these entries.
Why does our thinking sometimes get confused?
I wonder if it's just a natural response to having so many different sources of information that makes us automatically feel confused and our brains are basically saying "make sense of all this".
But in our lives today, you could argue that we're always living in a state of confusion. The amount of information and the speed at which it travels could keep us forever confused.
I think that having some level of confusion may be helpful.
When we are confused, it causes us to stop and think. Without it, we would continue to just keep doing and believing the things we always have and then were would new ideas and thinking come from?
The challenge is to manage this confusion so that it becomes a positive force in our lives and not a negative distraction.
If we can learn to embrace confusion and then actively engage our curiosity to better understand and clarify why we are confused, this may be a good thing.
For in our search to silence our confusion, we may discover a great response.
