The Secret to Longevity?: Go Slow

We're all in search of the secret to longevity and 96 year old Dot Fisher-Smith shares her thoughts on how to live a long, happy and purposeful life.
First, she believes that in her case she is actually re-embracing her childhood. Through her rediscovery of curiosity and playfulness, she embraces a childlike life filled with fun that she believes she initially missed as a child.
Secondly, she celebrates and appreciates everyday with gratitude. She recognizes that her physical abilities are diminishing but doesn't focus on this, but instead appreciates what she is still able to do. Dot realizes that we are all connected and the same but unique at the same time and it's in this appreciation of everybody and everything that she finds joy.
Thirdly, she believes that the real gift of longevity comes through by going slow. She says,
Go slow, then you'll know where to seek the truth, when to speak your truth from the heart. Go slow then you'll know that the only way to enjoy this day is right now.
Some very wise words. Afterall, all that we can truly be certain of is the moment we are living right now - so might as well enjoy it!
