What If This Was The Type of World We Lived In?

Society's views of aging are not necessarily positive. What if we were able to look past some of our limiting beliefs and see the full potential this time of life can offer?

2 min read.

What if ageism didn’t exist?

What if people of all ages were given opportunities based on their skills and ability?

What if there were no birthday cards poking fun at your age?

What if organizations recognized the value of having people of all ages working in their business?

What if the government put the fear of god into companies so they never considered setting an age above which they wouldn’t hire?

What if there was a person who was the equivalent of the Notorious RBG prosecuting ageist organizations?

What if all those who were able to, were allowed to work and secure their own future for as long as they wanted?

What if we continued the successful action of thousands of years and had our elders pass on wisdom to the next generation instead of looking to google for the answers to life?

What if women could enter their mature years having had decades of equal paying work?

What if these women didn’t have to apologize and slink into oblivion because of a few wrinkles or grey hair?

What if there was no grey sideline - kicking mature people out of the game before they were ready?

What if we all continued to learn through our working lives, and were given an opportunity to do so, such that our skills remain current?

What if no one made an assumption about our ability, or skill, by looking at our birth certificate?

This is the world I envision in my new book - Maturity Blues. And with reference to some wonderfully intelligent people from around the world, describe a roadmap on how we could do it.

I hope you enjoy reading it.
